Dj Barry Breaks

DJ Barry Breaks is a Frome based vinyl record obsessive with over 19 years of experience as a disc jockey, playing at clubs and venues all over the South West of England.
With an unrivaled reputation locally for his extensive collection of vinyl and penchant for "obscure" records, plus a working knowledge of the music scene Barry specializes in a carte blanche mix of funk, disco, jazz, hip hop, latin, house, breaks and everything in between, bringing a wealth of experience and excellent track selection to the party, and audio solutions to visual projects.
The majority of his work consists of a both small and large scale party's every year at venues and residences.
Starting out as a 15 year old bedroom DJ releasing a series of mix tapes, Barry was given his first break playing at the Frome Festival in 1997, and had been invited back regularly ever since (playing both the 'opening' and 'closing' sets at the Frome Festival in 2007)
In the years since he's been lucky enough to travel around the world several times hunting out new and exotic sounds, playing at numerous clubs and festivals across the West Country including the world famous Glastonbury Festival, and directing a plethora of club nights, which are always incredibly popular due to their fun and eclectic soundscapes, as well as running a series of DJ workshops which were very well attended.
He has also been fortunate enough to perform with a diverse variety of artists from Will White to Pee Wee Ellis, Dreadzone, Undivided Attention and The Dirty Beatniks among many others.
In addition to his work as a DJ, he is also known as "the other guy" from the Frome based arts magazine called The Furball, which attracted rave reviews in the Mendip area.
